Hollywood Smile During Lunch Break
How do Hollywood stars smile confidently, whether in their daily life or on the red carpet, right? If you want to have a smile like them; this is not impossible. Moreover, you can have your smile design done in a few hours during your lunch break and return to your work!
Hollywood smile is one of the most common applications in our dental clinic today.
The development of strong bonding systems allowed lamina to enter daily use. Zirconium and empress porcelains have also been used frequently for a perfect aesthetic… Besides, with the development of laser technology, the gums-lips have become perfectly editable in only a few minutes. In this way, the treatment times and the time spent in the patient chair have been shortened. People are trying to take advantage of these blessings of technology during lunch breaks even during the busy working pace.
“It is no longer necessary to have flawless teeth, lips and gums from birth to have a perfect smile. As a result of a good analysis by your dentist, you can have a nice ‘Hollywood Smile’ to envy those around you ”
DENTAL LENGTH EXTENSION: In recent years, erbium lasers have been used frequently to provide smile design. We use this technique when people smile more when they smile. Thanks to Erbium lasers, it is possible to retract the gums of the patient as much as we want without the need for surgery. In this way, more teeth and less gums are seen. In doing so, the compliance and proportion of the crown (parts of the mouth) of the teeth with the lips, face and other surrounding tissues should be evaluated very well.
FACIAL ANALYSIS: The facial features of the patient are determined. These things are planned according to these features. The tooth structure is determined according to the facial characteristic and if necessary, the operations to be performed in other areas of the face, including other medical branches, are also included in the planning. As a result, we can reach the ‘golden ratio’ we want, and result in treatment, teeth, lips, and facial features proportional to each other will appear.
LAMINA PORCELAINS: Although porcelain laminates have a thin and semi-permeable porcelain layer, they cannot be separated from the tooth as they adhere to the tooth surface by using strong adhesive systems with a special method. However, making the diagnosis correctly and applying it to the right tooth, right region and the right patient type prolongs the life of these porcelain leaflets. It is not suitable for patients with advanced clenching habits and for teeth with large fillings. Lamina are porcelains that provide maximum aesthetics with minimum tooth wear. They are not distinguished from natural teeth due to their light transmittance. They do not change color. They don’t feel like there is a foreign body in the mouth.
ZIRCONIUM PORCELAINS: When any of the teeth are exposed to substance loss, cavities occur in the tooth and the adjacent tooth moves towards this cavity. Thus, intraoral tooth structure and shape are impaired. Accordingly, mouth closing and chewing force are also affected. If these spaces are not filled for a long time, the space increases. Therefore, these spaces are filled with crowns or bridges according to the size and number of the space. Metal support is used in these processes. Today, full porcelain crown bridges without metal support can be used to remove the cavities without using any metal. It is used in zirconium porcelain in bridge teeth instead of metal substructure. The full advantage of the “Full Porcelain” bridge, also called metal-free bridge or metal-free bridges, is that it provides a full aesthetic appearance in the bridges in the back region with its very high durability. When the gum is pulled, full porcelains retain their aesthetic appearance, while metal porcelains create a bad image in the area where they merge with the tooth.
Allergy risk that may occur in materials such as nickel and silver used in the infrastructure is absent in full porcelains.
EMPRESS CROWNS: The process of covering the teeth to repair a single tooth is called crowns, and in case of missing one or more teeth, the process applied to fill the gap by using neighboring teeth is called a bridge. Aesthetic results are obtained by using lamina crowns, metal supported porcelain crowns and non-metal supported porcelain crowns in crown-bridge construction. Successful results are obtained with porcelain crowns without metal support on the front teeth, especially where aesthetics are important. In this way, an image that gives the same appearance with the natural tooth appears.
DENTAL IMPLANTS: Dental implants are artificial roots made of titanium, usually screw-shaped, placed in the jawbone, so that a crown, bridge or a movable prosthesis can be made on it. In contrast to the natural tooth, the implant should fully merge into the jaw bone. For this combination to take place, it is necessary to wait for an average of 2-3 months after the implant is placed in the jawbone. At the end of this period, the appropriate supports are placed on the implant and the construction of the prosthesis begins.
In case of loss of a single tooth, when treated with the traditional method, it is necessary to cut off two adjacent teeth and bridge them. However, when an implant-supported crown is made in place of the missing tooth, neighboring teeth are prevented from being cut and the dental tissues are maximized.
In case of multiple teeth deficiency, the traditional method is to complete the missing teeth with a bridge or with removable partial dentures. With implant-supported fixed prostheses, the existing teeth will not need to be cut or the person will not have to use removable dentures.
In the case of complete toothlessness, patients who do not want or cannot use a total prosthesis can be placed with a completely fixed prosthesis by placing 6-8 implants in the jaw bone. In cases where the jaw bone is not suitable for fixed prosthesis, minimum two implants can be placed and implant supported removable prostheses can be applied. In this way, patients get rid of the problems such as dislocation and playing in total prostheses.
