Implant Treatment

 Implant Treatment

What is an implant?
Dental implants or dental implants are structures in the form of screws or roots made of titanium, which are placed in the jaw bones and are intended to heal around this implant and accept it as a part of itself.

How is an implant made? Dental implants are made by opening slots in a suitable position, diameter and length for the implant planned to be made in the jawbone by a surgical procedure. Since implant placement is a surgical procedure, the quality of the materials used and the sterilisation and hygiene conditions of the environment are some of the most important criteria. For implant surgery, local anaesthesia, i.e. numbing only the area to be treated, is sufficient.

What is the duration of implant treatment?

In general, 1 week is sufficient for your implant treatment. In addition, thanks to the self-melting suture, treatment can be performed in 1 day, but in this case, you will not be able to make a prosthesis that you can use temporarily. The first stage of your treatment is implant treatment, in the second stage, the implant is expected to fuse to your bone between 3 and 6 months, and then porcelains are made on the implant within 1 week.

Can implants be done in every patient? In patients who have completed the growth and development age and have a good general health condition, implants can be applied after the suitability of the bone structure is evaluated with a panoramic X-ray film (X-RAY). In chronic diseases such as diabetes, blood pressure or heart, implants can be applied if your disease is under control.

What is done in cases of bone insufficiency in the area to be implanted?
In some cases, there may not be the appropriate amount of bone in the area to be implanted for various reasons. In this case, after a careful examination and evaluation by our maxillofacial surgeon, bone formation procedures (augmentation, bone graft application, bone powder application, augmentation with box technique) can be performed to increase the bone volume to the desired dimensions.

What is Sinus Lifting?
It is the process of placing bone graft / powder into the sinus cavity in cases where the cavities called sinuses in the upper jaw do not allow for implants and making these areas suitable for implants.

Can an implant be placed immediately after tooth extraction?

In most cases, if the bone structure in the area to be implanted is suitable, implant can be done very easily immediately after tooth extraction. In general, the implant is supported by the addition of bone powder in the area after this procedure.

Is the brand of implants important?
Nowadays, there are many implant brands available due to their increased use. The fact that the implant company has been in the market for a very long time brings a lot of experience. Companies reflect these experiences to their implants and ensure that the implants serve in the best way. In addition, it is an advantage for that implant to be easily available in many different purpose parts called spacers of implants. It is important that the implant brand is quality certified products that the physician who performs the treatment knows and has experience.

Can implant treatment be performed under anaesthesia?
Sedation is the process of performing your treatments while you sleep, as in general anaesthesia applied by our General Anaesthesia Doctor. However, unlike general anaesthesia, you do not need to stay in the hospital at the end of the treatment and the side effects are negligible compared to general anaesthesia. With sedation, your treatments are easily performed while you sleep and when you wake up, your entire treatment is completed in 2-4 hours.
