Bonding & Whitening

What is bonding?
It is a very popular aesthetic dentistry application that does not harm the teeth and can be applied very quickly. It is a very successful technique used for aesthetic correction of fractures, gaps, deformities and some position disorders in the teeth. What are the advantages of bonding? The most important advantage is that it is an aesthetic application that does not require any abrasion on the tooth. Since they are very well bonded to the tooth tissues, they support the tooth tissues and make them resistant to fractures. It is a very fast technique. It can be completed in one session. The possibility of hot and cold sensitivity is very low. There is no waiting period for amalgam fillings, the patient can eat comfortably after treatment.

Can bonding be applied to everyone?
Yes, it can be applied to everyone, but patients with bruxism (teeth clenching and grinding) habits or parafunctional habits made with the front teeth (opening bottle caps, biting pens, etc.) should be warned and precautions should be taken.

How long does bonding last?
Bondings last in the mouth for 7-10 years. However, this period may be longer or shorter depending on the oral care of the person.

Do bonded teeth need special care?
Since the bonding to the tooth enamel is very strong, there is no situation that requires much attention. There is no difference in terms of care from normal teeth.

Whitening (Belaching)
Nowadays, the bleaching procedure to whiten the colour of the teeth is applied in two ways; Office and Home type… Office Type application is a system that is completely under the control of a physician and applied in the clinic. It can be applied to one tooth, several teeth or both upper and lower teeth. On the whitening substance applied to the tooth, a whitening accelerating beam is applied, which activates the substance. In 2 or 3 sessions, the desired whiteness can be achieved.

Home type:
It is a method applied with a plaque prepared by the physician by taking the measurement of the patient’s teeth and fully compatible with this measurement. Whitening is achieved by the patient placing this plaque on the teeth with the whitening agent while lying down at night. It may be recommended to repeat 2 or 3 nights.

It is very important to use the right diagnosis and the right substance correctly in the whitening process. Otherwise, thinning of the enamel of the teeth and excessive sensitivity, burning and recession of the gums may occur. Correct use is only possible under the control of a physician 

The teeth whitening process to be applied to you does absolutely no harm to the teeth and maintains its whiteness for 1-1.5 years even in people with high smoking and tea-coffee consumption. In people without smoking and coffee habits, a permanent whiteness lasting 3-4 years can be obtained.
